Grampians Alcohol and Other Drugs Residential Rehabilitation Service

Grampians Alcohol and Other Drugs Residential Rehabilitation Service is a 20-bed therapeutic facility that provides residential accommodation across four existing buildings. The buildings were extensively refurbished, with one building extended to provide additional floor area and create a light-filled communal area. The residential area of a former community care unit was refurbished to create safe yet inviting environments. Six residential “houses” were created in the existing buildings. Each house has either three or four bedrooms, a shared bathroom, separate WC, and lounge/kitchenette. An activity building includes a series of specialist and multi-purpose spaces for the delivery of various services to residents. These are also deployed for staff meetings and training sessions. A communal living and staff building includes a large lounge (with a connecting staff office), dining, commercial kitchen and laundry, a therapy space, medication, and treatment rooms. The landscape is a fundamental element in the facility’s design, providing a safe environment that supports residents’ rehabilitation through a range of grounding activities.
